Established in 1973, Odyssey has a reputation for innovative ideas, stunning cinematography, and creative editing. We produce award-winning audiovisual presentations for a wide range of museums, visitor centers, aquariums, as well corporations and associations. We have produced projects of all shapes and sizes with budget ranges to match – from relatively small – to those over a half-million dollars. These film and video projects include: multi-screen exhibits, object theater productions, standard theater projections, video walls, kiosk programs, and interaction with special effects and surround sound audio. Our programs inspire discovery and motivate exploration.

Interpretive audiovisual presentations are seldom "stand-alone" exhibits. We consider of utmost importance the integration of audiovisual productions into the dimensional and visual environments that surround them – that is, to make them compatible with typography, graphic and design elements of adjacent exhibitry. We also strive to assure that the "tone-of-voice” – the look and sound – of a production is seamless with its surroundings, and that it reflects the personality and core interests of the Client and its key constituencies.

Collaboration defines the creative process at Odyssey. Our Client's aims and goals come first, and their insights are important throughout the production. Our production team members add their broad experience, complimentary skills and creative ability to projects. Odyssey's philosophy is to include the Client actively in the collaborative process from the beginning and throughout production.

We are comfortable originating on 16mm film, 35mm film, High Definition, Digital Betacam, Betacam SP and Mini DV, depending on the needs of the project. We use the most appropriate and current technology at all stages of production and throughout post-production, including our in-house AVID digital editing system. Many of Odyssey's productions include original music, specifically scored to further enhance the program's effectiveness conveying the interpretive message.

Odyssey’s work has won a wide variety of awards and recognition, including: numerous Tellys, Muse Awards, Cine Golden Eagles, NAI Interpretive Media Awards, Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival Finalists, Silver Cindy, Communicator Award, Spotlight Award, U.S. International Film & Video Festival Awards, and Gold Apple Awards.
